Biography
Emerald Lucas hails from the state of California and takes pride in her Southern California roots. Emerald was a first-generation college and law student. Emerald attended California State University Northridge where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. After completing her undergraduate studies, Emerald worked at a nonprofit in Los Angeles focused on housing those experiencing homelessness.
Emerald then attended Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C. where she focused on the intersection of technology and the law. While in law school, Emerald served two terms as a Vernon E. Jordan Jr. Fellow at an international law firm in their public law and policy division, interned at the Department of Commerce in their Commercial Law Development Program, and was an ACLU of Nevada First Amendment Fellow. In her final year of law school Emerald also served as a Deans Fellow teaching first year law students the technicalities of legal writing.
After graduating from law school in 2024, Emerald moved to Las Vegas and began a clerkship working for Judge Joseph Hardy Jr. at the Eighth Judicial District Court.
Emerald pursued a law degree because she believes in helping people achieve justice when they are wronged. Emerald is proud to bring her passion for advocacy to Bighorn Law.
Outside of work, her hobbies include watching reality TV and spending time with her loved ones.
