Biography
James (“Jim”) Sweetin represents clients in complex personal injury cases, including catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice, focused on securing justice and fair compensation for victims.
Prior to joining Bighorn Law, Jim served for 28 years with the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, including 13 years as Chief Deputy District Attorney and head of the Special Victims Unit. During his tenure, he successfully tried over 100 jury trials to verdict, supervising the prosecution of Clark County’s most serious criminal cases and earning recognition as a skilled advocate for victims of crime.
Jim earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1993 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Admitted to practice in all Nevada state courts, he leverages his extensive trial experience to deliver exceptional results in civil litigation.
Outside the courtroom, Jim is active in his community through legal and civic organizations. An avid endurance athlete, he enjoys marathon running and mountain biking and dedicates time to his church and family, including his wife, five children, and five grandchildren.
